Bob Wheaton is an assistant metro editor at the Citizen Patriot. He
supervises the newspaper's education reporters and oversees Living
Today and some feature sections. He came to the Citizen Patriot in
July 2007.
Bob has 15 years of experience as a newspaper reporter. He came to
the Citizen Patriot from The Flint Journal. He also worked at The
Oakland Press, The Traverse City Record-Eagle, The Daily News in
Greenville and The Albion Recorder.
Bob was born and raised in the Jackson area. He is a 1986 graduate of
Lumen Christi High School and received a bachelor's degree in
journalism from Michigan State University.
He and his wife Rene became parents in March 2007, when their son
Jack was born. Bob enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs,
a Jack Russell terrier and a dachsund, and going to Detroit Tiger games.
