Gail Slaughter began working as an editorial aide in 2000. She comes in early each morning to write the summaries for the "spadea" that piece of paper wrapped around the front section. She also writes articles on the Sunday book page about authors with "Local Ties."
Gail's newspaper background includes working as a free-lance writer for the Citizen Patriot; a reporter and ad designer at the Saline Reporter; and a keyliner at Associated Newspapers in Wayne (that outdated term "keyliner" gives you an idea how long she's been in the business).
Gail is active in church and recycling and occasionally in local theater. She played the Wicked Witch in "Wizard of Oz" at the Michigan Theatre, cast against type, certainly.
