Monetta writes about food and religion. A 1971 graduate of Central Michigan University, she majored in journalism and history.
From 1972-74, she worked at the Santa Paula (Calif.) Daily Chronicle, where she was the nation's first female sports editor of a daily
newspaper. She was the first female reporter to cover a baseball game at Anaheim Stadium, which was noted in the Los Angeles Times.
She joined the Citizen Patriot in 1974. She enjoys flower gardening and walking. She and her husband, Jerry, and their two children
live in Spring Arbor Township.
Monetta taught journalism for four years at Jackson Community College and is currently teaching at Michigan State University.
