Claire Cummings joined the Citizen Patriot as an education reporter
in March 2008.
She graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a
specialization in Spanish from Michigan State University. She
previously interned at The Monroe Evening News, The Oakland Press,
The Columbus Dispatch, The Dallas Morning News and The Boston Globe.
Her coverage area spans Jackson County and includes Jackson Public
Schools, Jackson Community College and the county’s Intermediate
School District, among others.
Claire is a native of Brownstown, Mich., a southern suburb of
Detroit. She now lives in Jackson.
