Jon is responsible for content, design and production of state and nation/world pages. He also writes running and
skiing columns for the 'Venture Outdoors section. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1973 with a journalism
degree and has worked on the Citizen Patriot copy desk since 1980. Previously, he was news editor at The Kennebec Journal
in Augusta, Maine, and before that served as sports editor, wire/photo editor and then news editor of The Sault (Mich.)
Evening News. Jon enjoys running, skiing, fly fishing, reading, golfing, smoking an occasional stinky cigar and spending
time at the cabin in the Upper Peninsula, where he loves to make mighty splashes into Monocle Lake after incredibly hot
saunas. He and his wife, Barb, and their two children live in Spring Arbor Township.
